Catalan Federation of Korfbal


Federació Catalana de Korfbal (FCK) is the Catalan Basketball Association. This bond originated from the 'ACPPK' and the 'UCK'. The FCK has been in existence since 2004. History

The federation was founded in the year 1990 as the "Association of Catalans by a Promoció i Práctica del Korfbal" (ACPPK). In 1997, this federation was recognized by the International Korfball Federation (IKF), during the meeting in Lahti, Finland. In 1999, the ACPPK was renamed the UCK, 'Unió Catalana de Korfbal'. Since July 9, 2004, the federation continues under the name "Federació Catalana de Korfbal", with currently 24 associations. The official recognition by the IKF was celebrated in Terrassa on 29 October 2005. The FCK is the first Catalan sports federation that has been recognized by both national (International Olympic Committee) and International Sports Associations (IKF).

The FCK Board currently consists of nine members. Each of them has its own task area. Competitions

The FCK organizes various competitions for seniors, junior and youth. In the 2007-2008 season, a total of 43 teams participate in the various competitions. These teams come from 19 associations. The senior contest (Lliga Catalana de Korfbal) is divided into two classes:

In addition to regular competitions, the FCK also organizes a cup competition, the Copa Catalana de Korfbal. Selections
