Christians for Socialism were a society of Dutch Christians who propagated socialism between 1974 and 1994.
Christians for Socialism were founded in response to the coup in Chile against Marxist President Salvador Allende. The goal was to present socialism "within the church". The Christians for Socialism were strongly targeted at the Eastern Bloc and were in a warm interest from both the Internal Security Service and East German Secret Service Stasi. Within the IKV, the Christians for Socialism turned against the direction of the IKV leadership to establish contacts with independent peace movements in eastern Europe. Five years after the collapse of the Eastern bloc, Christians held up for socialism. The remaining members moved to the Society for Theology and Society. Famous Members Literature
