The Netherlands Packaging Center (NVC) is the Dutch chain packaging company in the Netherlands. It is an association of companies located along the supply chain of packaged products.
The Dutch Packaging Center was founded in 1953 on the initiative of the NIVE and in consultation with the Contact Group for Production Productivity (COP), part of the Social Economic Council, with the aim of being a central point of contact in the Netherlands for everything relating to to packaging.
The NVC directly or indirectly directs the interests of the packaging industry to national and international authorities and legislators and has contacts with the ministries of VROM, VWS, EZ and V & W. Through the European Packaging Institutes Consortium (EPIC), there is direct contact with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The NVC is chairman of the National Policy Committee for Transport, Logistics and Packaging of the Dutch Standardization Institute. Environmental legislation is monitored and influenced on the basis of sustainability and the view on the European and world markets. The NVC operates the Secretariat of the Packaging Institute of Europe (EPIC) and is a member of the World Packaging Organization (WPO).
