Kingspan Unidek

Kingspan Unidek BV is one of the largest industrial companies located in the Dutch village of Gemert. The company, which manufactures insulation boards for roofs, is located in Wolfsveld, which is located northeast of Gemert. History

The company was founded in 1969 by Hendrik van Dijk. This started as a trader in wood and building materials under the name 'Gebroeders van Dijk'. In 1972, the company also manufactured and processed expanded polystyrene (EPS, Pepper Foam, Tempex). In 1977, the first self-supporting insulation system for sloping roofs was developed, with EPS being the base material. Subsequently a large number of different products were manufactured for inter alia sloping roofs. The name was then changed to Unidek B.V ..

Later Unidek was taken over by CRH, a Dublin-based building conglomerate, where a large number of self-employed companies are part of. Unidek fell under the CRH Insulation division, which was acquired in 2011 by Kingspan Group PLC, also an Irish listed company. Since then, the company is called Kingspan Unidek. Externe link
