The royal visit to Queen of Beatrix Queen took place on May 20, 2005. It was the second provincial visit taken by the Queen in her silver government anniversary.
Queen Beatrix visited IJsselstein, Utrecht and Woerden that day. At 13:00 she was welcomed in IJsselstein by Mayor Mr. Dr. Th. E.M. Wijte and the Commissioner of the Queen in Utrecht, Boele Staal. With him and the other members of the College of Deputies, she had a conversation about the latest developments in the province. Then Beatrix visited a new seniors complex in IJsselstein. There she spoke to residents for some time.
At the Mobilion in Utrecht, the king later received various explanations about issues relating to road safety. Traffic was also the theme of a meeting the queen had with elementary school students and students of the VMBO.
At the end of the day, Queen Beatrix visited Woerden. There she was thoroughly informed about the innovations that were formed in the center of the city. Here too, schoolchildren played a major role. The queen, among other things, watched a number of art forms made by students, and she also attended a fashion show hosted by students of the local school community.
The visit was closed with a reception in a local catering establishment.
