The shooting at Realengo was a massacre on April 7, 2011 at a school in Realengo, a neighborhood on the western edge of Rio de Janeiro. The perpetrator was the 23-year-old pupil Wellington Menezes de Oliveira. The shooter committed suicide after a trap of stairs and after being shot in a stomach by a military agent. At midnight, Wellington Menezes entered the Oliveira in Escola Municipal Tasso da Silveira. When he was passed after he had said that he had a speech, he entered a classroom and opened the fire. He fired around the 60 bullets with two revolvers, twelve people killed and at least eighteen injured.
