Cross of the Armed Forces (Venezuela)

The Army Cross (Spanish: "La Cruz de las Fuerzas Terrestres Venezolanas") is a Venezuelan award set in 1952 to reward outstanding military achievements.

The cross, a "Rupertkruis", is red enameled and has 12 points all decorated with a golden ball. On the front is the text "HONOR AL MÉRITO" in the central medallion depicted inside a laurel wreath. On the reverse side is "CRUZ DEL EJÉRCITO VENEZOLANO".

The decoration is described in Article 332 of the Armed Forces Act.

The decoration is awarded in three classes.

Older crosses were stamped by the now-disappeared jeweler Meyer on the backside. The stamp bears the text "N. S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK" Externe link
