Fanfare Wilhelmina Vlodrop

Fanfare Wilhelmina is a fanfare orchestra from Vlodrop, now part of the Dutch municipality of Roerdalen. History

Fanfare Wilhelmina was founded in 1900. For decades, the association mainly pursued social obligations in the village, aiming more than for musical successes. There was a change in the end of the eighties of the 20th century when the fanfare was headed by conductor Sjef Ficker. At the 1988 competition of the Limburg Association of Music Societies in Roermond, the 28 musicians of the orchestra in the second section of the fanfare section won 324 points, awarded for a 1st prize with the jury praise and promotion.

Well-educated youthful musicians increased and so happened that Fanfare Wilhelmina climbed time in the Second Division - in time to the Association of the Year in 2000 - to the superior department. In 2000, he became Limburg's champion in the fanfare section.

In 2003, Chief Ficker put down the conductor stick. His successor became Belgian conductor Joost Vrolix.

For the first time in 2006, the National Championships in Arnhem took part, and achieved a first prize, with 85.33 points. conductors Also see
