Administrative subdivision of the kingdom Rajarata's Kingdom was a Kingdom of Sri Lanka, which ruled north of the present Sri Lanka from the 5th century BC. to the XIII century d.C. It was centered around the ancient cities of Tambapanni, Upatissa Nuwara, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa. The Rajarata was under the direct administration of the king. The other areas (Malaya rata, Ruhunu rata) were ruled by the king's brothers who were called Mapa and Epa.
