National Historic Sites of Canada (Canada) are Canada's most valuable historical sites, designated by the Canadian Ministry of the Environment on the advice of the Canadian Committee for Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada, HSMBC). In August 2008, 958 sites were designated. Sites may be national, provincial, municipal or even private; most of them are still open to the public.
