The fair in Zurich

The SWX Swiss Exchange AG is the Swiss trade fair and was founded in 1993. It is an important component of Switzerland's financial center and it is located in Zurich.

The Swiss Exchange (Card: SWX) consists of several components, the most important being the listing of shares. It also complies with the rules surrounding the electronic fair and oversees these rules. Although SWX's strategy is international, the traded shares are kept in the depots of Swiss banks.

The following financial products are also traded: Swiss franc bonds and euro bonds, traditional equity funds, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and derivatives.

The SWX acts to Swiss law. The SWX itself is being reviewed by the Swiss Committee of Independent Banks. (Eidgenössischen Bankenkommission (EBK)). The SWX is a member of the international organizations World Federation of Exchanges and Federation of European Stock Exchanges.

Since August 2008, it operates under the name SIX Swiss Exchange Ltd. Also see
