The cursed crippled was a real clandestine heretical school that, in Venice at the beginning of the sixteenth century, spread ideas opposed to Catholic doctrine.

This heterodox group was denounced by Gian Pietro Carafa, bishop of Chieti, in his famous memorial De Lutheranorum haeresi reprimenda et ecclesia reformanda, addressed to Pope Clement VII on October 4, 1532. According to the same allegation of the ecclesiastical, that over the years Twenty performed intense inquisitorial activity in the Republic of St. Mark, the heretic compartment belonged to three Minor Conventual Friars: Girolamo Galateo, Bartolomeo Fonzio and Alessandro Pagliarino da Piove di Sacco.
