Heinz Graffunder (Berlin, 23 December 1926 - December 9, 1994) was a German architect.

Between 1949 and 1952 he studied Vereinigten Bauschulen von Groß-Berlin. After that, he worked as an architect and urban architect in Berlin between 1952 and 1967. He acquired fame as a designer of the Palast of Republik. Other constructions of his hand include the DDR embassy in Budapest (with Eckart Schmidt) and buildings in various zoos in Rostock, Cottbus, Neustrelitz, Maagdenburg and Erfurt. Also, the central station in Sofia is out of hand. He also designed houseboats in Berlin-Friedrichshain and Berlin-Lichtenberg, a children's pool in the Monbijoupark in Berlin-Pankow and a apartment building on Friedrichsgracht in Berlin (again with Eckart Schmidt).

After the Revolution, Graffunder had his own architectural agency in Berlin between 1990 and 1994, which he designed among others some garden centers and hotels. He undertook to maintain the Palast of Republik, but without success.
