Mariano Álvarez de Castro
Mariano Álvarez de Castro (Burgo de Osma, 1749 - Figueras, 1810) was a Spanish general.
General during the defense of Barcelona against the troops of Napoleon was appointed governor of Gerona, who defended assiduously by the French troops.
He was imprisoned by Napoleons in the prisons of Figueras, where he died. It is remembered in Spain as a national hero. Other designers wikitesto
