Philip Short (May 15, 1960) is an Irish chess player with a FIDE rating of 2284 in 2006 and 2298 in 2016. He is FIDE master.
In 1981, 1986 and 1988 he was champion of Ireland, in 2015 he was shared first in the battle for the championship of Ireland.
In July 2005 he played in Dublin in the tournament for the championship of Ireland and finished with 5.5 out of 9 in fifth place.
Also in 2009 he participated in the battle for the championship of Ireland.
In June 2015 he won 6.5 pt. from the 7th Bray Rapid Chess Tournament, which had more than 100 participants.
Philip is not related to Nigel Short.
