Sergio Santamaría González (Málaga, July 16, 1980) is a Spanish professional footballer. He plays since 2007 as a frontman at CD Logroñés. Club football

Santamaría started playing football in 1991 at La Cala CF. After one season he left for the youth of professional club Málaga CF. Eventually Santamaría ended up in 1996 in the youth academy (cantera) of FC Barcelona. From the 1998/99 season the striker played at Barça B. Louis van Gaal, the Spaniard made his debut in the first team on May 19, 2000 on the final playing day of the 1999/2000 season against Celta de Vigo. The following year, Santamaría played next to his matches at Barça B also a league game and a UEFA Cup match, on February 22, 2001 against AEK Athens, with the main power. FC Barcelona then leased Santamaría to Real Oviedo (2001/2002) and Elche CF (2002/2003). In 2003 he returned to play in Barça B again. Frank Rijkaard let him play four league matches with the first team in 2003/2004. Since then, Santamaría has been on loan at Deportivo Alavés (2004/2005), Albacete (2005/2006), UE Sant Andreu (2006/2007) and CD Logroñés (since 2007). National team

At the 1997 World Cup Under-17 in Egypt, Sergio Santamaría was elected as the tournament's player. Spain was third in that World Cup at the time.
