The Great Putting is a nature reserve between Hengstdijk, Kloosterzande and Lamsvalue.

The area is located in the Groote Hengstdijkpolder, an old-world polder that existed before 1200 and was denounced by the monks of the Abbey of Our Lady Ten Dunes, who had founded the Hof in Zande in Kloosterzande. In a part of the polder, the historical format disappeared at a merchant settlement in 1969.

In this nature area, the old parcel divisions remained intact. They are formed by a network of peas and ditches. The area is very low, up to 1.6 meters below NAP. In the summer it is a grazing bird with grauto, tureluur, kievit and slobend, in winter a winter area for geese. Breeding birds include: Grasspiper, fieldlark, blue bristle, reed singer and reed perch. There are also spoons and small egrets to be seen. Accessibility

The area is largely unavailable. A lookout hill was raised at the Karnemelkstraat. Furthermore, one can walk around the area. Externe link
