Vaseline cetomacrogol cream (cremor vaselini cetomacrogolis) is a fatty cream, with no active drugs added. It is thus an example of a so-called neutral, fat cream, or an "emollient". It is used to counteract peeling, dryness and itchiness of the skin. It can be prescribed for example in forms of eczema and dry skin.
There are standard recipes to add, for example, triamcinolone or dimethylsulfoxide to vaseline-cetomacrogol cream.
Composition (according to Dutch pharmacist formulation): 40 grams of water, 10 grams of propylene glycol, 15 grams of cetomacrogol wax, 12.5 grams of paraffin and 22.5 grams of petrolatum.
