Wallingford Museum

Wallingford Museum

The Wallingford Museum is an intimate and colorful museum with collections of local importance. The museum is housed in a medieval townhouse in the town of Wallingford in the English county of Oxfordshire (formerly Berkshire).

The small museum has an extensive collection of Wallingford's history, highlighting archeology, Wallingford Castle and the city of the Middle Ages and the Victorian era. A free audio tour is available.

The museum is housed in a flint-clad house (the exterior dates back to the 17th century, and the wooden interior is probably in the late 15th century) and overlooks the Kinecroft, an open space in Wallingford which becomes two sides bordered by Anglo-Saxon burh-defense works built in the 9th century.

The museum is located in Flint House, 52 High Street, Wallingford, OX10 0DB. The fully recognized museum is fully run by volunteers. The Wallingford Museum is an independent charitable company registered in England and Wales.
