Disulfide Isomerase (or PDI) is a class of enzymes that catalyze exchange reactions between groups -SH and SS-groups, the formation or breakup of sulphide bridges by facilitating the formation of proper sulfur bonds between cysteine pairs and thus ensuring greater stability and functionality of the protein.
