Federico Conti

Federico del Conte di Verona (... - probably 1477) was an Italian typographer.

He came to Jesi (Ancona) probably at the end of 1471 along with the Lombards who went to repopulate the area after the plague. From his brothels, Jesi also came out, besides some other works, also the first truly Italian edition of the Divine Comedy, which ended printing on July 18, 1472. Welcomed with Jesini's arms and provided with "stable and visible emoluments for to give him a chance to live his life in opulence, "he dropped it all in no time for family strikes and more. He was reduced to misery, he contracted debts he could not pay and ended up in jail, but ran away "the night before July 13, 1477", moving from one place to another, always in extreme poverty. He probably died that same year.
