Criminal Justice is a five-part BBC police series produced in 2008 and written by Peter Moffat. The production won, among others, BAFTA Awards for Best Drama Series and Best Writer and an International Emmy Award for Best Actor (Ben Whishaw).

Ben Coulter (Ben Whishaw) is a 21 year old boy. An adventure with Melanie Lloyd (Ruth Negga) does not go well, because she appears to be killed next morning. Coulter can not remember anything through the drink and drugs and is accused of murder. Nobody wants to hear his side of the story. Between Coulter's lawyer and detective Harrie Box (Bill Paterson), a battle starts. In prison, Coulter finds support for Hooch (Pete Postlethwaite), a criminal who offers a listening ear.
