The DRU Cultuurfabriek (until the end of 2010: Drufabriek) is a cultural center in Ulft and is located in the district of Ulft-Noord, the former Oer neighborhood, in Achterhoek (Dutch province of Gelderland). It includes a theater, a puppet theater, a music school, a library and a Turkish cultural center. The council hall of the municipality of Oude IJsselstreek is also located in the DRU Cultuurfabriek. The DRU Cultuurfabriek is located in the buildings of the former ironworks DRU, directly located on the river Oude IJssel. On the other side of the river, several events are held each year, including Huntenpop and Huntenkunst, and there is parking at large visitors. History

The iron mill, which would later be called the "Olde Hut", was founded by the Count of Bergh in 1754 at the place where a water mill already existed. It was the second ironworks on Dutch soil. The company was acquired in 1774 by Mayor Diepenbrock and Pharmacy Herons, after which it was named Diepenbrock and Herons Ulft (DRU). Villa Zeno was demolished in the seventies.

In 2009, the Cultuurfabriek opened as a cultural center of the municipality. Externe link
