Lacrymosa


Lacrymosa is a composition of Krzysztof Penderecki for soprano, choir and orchestra of 1980. It was written in memory of the victims of the mining strikes in 1970. The Russian Mstislav Rostropovich gave the premiere. The text is from the Dies Irae section of the requiem Source and discography again at the Beijing Olympics. He is seen as one of the best C1 skillers of all time. With 16 years he is the youngest winner of a World Cup match.
