Marty Cooper


Martin James (Marty) Cooper (born in Denver) is an American singer and songwriter, who was active in the sixties and seventies. At the beginning of his career, he used the pseudonym El Clod. He wrote in 1961 with H.B. Barnum the song "Peanut Butter", which became a hit for the African-American soul group The Marathons. From 1963 to 1968 Cooper with Lee Hazlewood and his wife formed the Shacklefords folk group. He wrote "Hey Harmonica Man" in 1964 a little hit for Stevie Wonder. In 1972, Barnaby Records released Coopers solo album A Minute of Your Time. The music on this album was provided with orchestral arrangements by Larry Muhoberac. Externe link
