Paul Denis is a Haitian politician.
Denis was a fierce opponent of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide and was part of the triumph that appointed a Council of Wise Men after the Aristide power crimes in 2004. At the 2006 presidential election he joined the Socialist OPL ("Òganizasyon Pèp Kap Lité "), but achieved only 2.62% of the votes.
Denis became minister of justice and public security in the government of René Préval. After the earthquake struck by Haiti on January 12, 2010, he was supposed to be killed by the collapse of the ministry building. Nine days later, on January 21, 2010, he was injured but found alive in a hole in the ground.
On June 28, 2011, he resigned as minister just before he had to appear before a senate committee in connection with malfunctions in the judicial system.
