Philanthaxia lombokana


Philanthaxia lombokana is a kind of splendor of the genus Philanthaxia that occurs on the Indonesian island of Lombok. He was first described in 2011.

P. Lombokana is a beetle from 6.7 to 10.1 millimeters long. The male's back is bronze with a purple shine. The front of the head is gold-green, the top is bronze. Females have a purple-bronze color, the cover shields have a blue-violet color on the side. The scutellum is gold-green. The legs and feathers are black in both sexes with a bronze shine. The belly is black with a copper shine. On the belly are some nice, lying white hairs.

The lombokana variety designation refers to the island of Lombok.
