Vatican Television Center

The Centro Televisivo Vaticano (CTV) (Dutch: Center for Vatican Television) is the state television broadcast of Vatican City. The broadcaster is part of the Roman Curie and is one of the Holy Communion's communication facilities in addition to the radio station (Radio Vatican) and the newspaper (L'Osservatore Romano).

The broadcaster was established in 1983 and has been a subdivision of the Curie since 1996. The main purpose of the broadcasting is to contribute to the preaching of the Gospel. In addition, the broadcaster proposes to document the actions of the pope. The broadcaster provides live broadcast around all public performances of the pope. In addition, the station sends documentaries, insofar as they contribute to the objectives of the CTV.

Dario Viganò has been Director of the CTV since 2013. The Supervisory Board of the CTV has been chaired by Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli since 25 May 2009.

On June 27, 2015, the Center for Vatican Television was placed under the jurisdiction of the Secretariat for Communications. Externe link
