Gerrit Frederik Dalenoord


Gerrit Frederik Dalenoord (Enschede, November 7, 1897 - Haren, August 14, 1971) was a Dutch entrepreneur. From 1956 to 1964 he was President of the Scholtens Group. Life and work

Dalenoord was born in Enschede in November 1897 as son of factory boss Herman Gerrit Dalenoord and Gesina Hardick. Dalenoord began his career in 1930 at Scholten's Chemie as a textile expert. In 1937 Dalenoord became commercial director of the company. In 1956 he became director of the Scholten group. In 1964 he resigned. Under its rule, the company tripled triplets from 50 million to 150 million guilders and was expanded and diversified on the national and international market.

Dalenoord married Anna Cornelia Gezina Moerman on November 24, 1926. He died in August 1971 at the age of 73 in his hometown of Haren. Dalenoord was Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau. Social awareness

Dalenoord was among other members of the Provincial Committee of the Foundation "The Netherlands Helps India" in Groningen and the Groninger Loge L'Union Provinciale. From the latter, he completed the position of presiding master in 1952. Resistance

During World War II, Dalenoord was in the Resistance. Thus he was a local commander of the Order Service. He also had submersors and a drowned transmitter, 'Luctor et Emergo'.
