Jean-Max Bellerive

Jean-Max Bellerive (Port-au-Prince, 1958) is a Haitian politician and former Haitian prime minister. He was appointed by President René Préval on October 30, 2009, one day after the Senate's predecessor Michèle Pierre-Louis was voted off. In 2011 he resigned.

Bellerive is the son of a prominent doctor and now married and father of two daughters. At a young age he studied in Switzerland, France and Belgium. With a degree in Political Science and International Relations, Bellerive returned to his homeland in 1986 just before the fall of Jean-Claude Duvalier.
