Basilio the Ocell (... - Proconnes, 961) was a Byzantine official, advisor to the Byzantine Emperor Constantine VII Porphiogenite Emperor (912-959).
He helped Constantine VII basileus to overthrow the ruler from the throne on the throne Romano I Lecapeno (919-944), and made sure that none of his children could claim the throne. In 959 Constantine VII died, the successors to the throne Romano II (959-963), Basil conspired against him, but was discovered, and imprisoned, was then exiled to Proconnes, where he would die shortly afterwards (961).
