Jon Philip Theodore

Jon Philip Theodore (Baltimore, December 1st, 1973) is a US drummer member of The Mars Volta Group since 2001, replacing Blake Fleming almost immediately in July 2006 when he was dismissed for reasons of persistence and want to work from Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler Zavala, leader of the group.

Curiously, after the announcement (July 30, 2006), it was replaced for a few months by Blake Fleming, which in turn was temporarily replaced by Deantoni Parks and later on by Thomas Pridgen. >

Jon Theodore was the studio drummer in the band (as well as live) for all the exits including Amputechture.

In duo with Rage Against the Machine singer Zack De La Rocha, released on July 22, 2008 an EP called "One day as a lion", recorded for Anti-records. The five tracks of the EP have simple sounds; percussion, keyboard and the typical rap rap of De La Rocha.

Currently playing in Queens of the Stone Age.
