Paul Palmer


Paul Palmer (Lincoln, October 18, 1974) is a former international top swimmer from Great Britain, who won the silver medal at the 400-meter freestyle at the Olympic Games in Atlanta (1996). His international breakthrough came to the mid-range specialist in 1991, when he won three gold medals (200, 400 and 1500) at the European Youth Championships in Antwerp.

His greatest success came at the European Championships of 1997 in Seville, where Palmer claimed the title of the 200-meter freestyle. Two years later in Istanbul, trainer coach Ian Turner's pupil won the title at the double distance (400 free) in a time of 3.48,12.
