The mineral uvite ((Ca, Na) (Mg, Fe) 3Al5Mg (BO3) 3Si6O18 (OH, F) 4) is a tan, brown to black silicate and belongs to the group of tourmalines.

Characteristics

The properties of the mineral are the same as those of the tourmaline. Uvite contains magnesium and is translucent to non-transparent. It looks a lot like the mineral dravite that belongs to the tour group. Naming
