Charles Simons (soccer player)


Charles Simons (Antwerp, September 27, 1906 - August 5, 1979) was a Belgian footballer who played as a midfielder or as a defender. He played in First Class at Antwerp FC and played 10 international competitions with the Belgian football team. Career

In 1923, Simons joined Antwerp FC. He debuted early in 1924 in the first team and soon acquired a base. Simons played as the center of the right or right back. With the team, Simons became twice international champion (1929 and 1931). From the season 1932 to 1933, Simons received little play and in 1934 he set a point behind his highest level of career career. In total, Simons played 176 games and scored 4 goals.

Between 1931 and 1932, Simons played 10 games for the Belgian football team as midfielder. Despite the fact that he did not play much at Antwerp, Simons was in the presidential election for the 1934 World Cup in Italy. However, he did not play any matches.
