Eelderdiep

The Eelderdiep (also Eekhoornsche Loop) is a brook in the north of the Dutch province of Drenthe.

The stream begins just north of Vries and ends in the Peizerdiep just south of Hoogkerk. The last part, which flows through the Peizer and Eeldermaden is characterized by the many meanders. This old loop has been preserved, despite the fact that a parallel line has been established from the Schelfhorst; The Surrounded Eelderdiep. The Omelet Eelderdiep was dug in 1928 in the framework of the trade settlement, to prevent water pollution in the eastern half of the brook valley.

The Eelderdiep forms the boundary between the municipalities of Tynaarlo and Noordveld from Bunne until its mouth at Hoogkerk. Poetry 53° 11′ NB, 6° 31′ OL
