Lamento for cello solo is a composition of Rus Aleksandr Knajfel. The work has been written with probably Mstislav Rostropovich in the lead as executive.
The music of this one-piece work begins with a sharp outburst on the instrument, a (probably) rudiment from its avant-garde time; The composer still studied while writing this work. After that it is time for long rest, extremely slow "melody lines" and a very fat and then ijl timbre. In addition, the high register of the cello is not shoved, so the music almost does not reach the silence in the piano assimilations.
