Narjot was the son of Narjot II of Toucy and his wife Agnese of Dampierre.
Together with the father-in-law Teodoro Brana and Goffredo of Merry, Narjot was part of the Council that ruled Constantinople shortly after the death of Conone of Bethune (December 17, 1219) until the arrival of the appointed Emperor, Robert of Courtenay (1220) . He was then regent of the Latin Empire during the Baldwin II Constantinople Minority (1228-1231) and during the absence of the emperor, engaged in a fundraiser in Europe (1238-1239).
