A night dive is a recreational dive that takes place in the dark at night. Difference with a dive during the day
Divers can see other things at night than during daytime, because many (predatory) animals are the most active at night and also many marine animals than couples. In addition, they are forced to concentrate on smaller plants or animals that are within their restricted field of view. Another aspect that makes the night dive different is that orientation over water, so before and especially after the dive, is more difficult than during the day. Precautions
For a night dive it is important for divers to have a diving lamp. They should not shine with the light in the eyes of other divers, because they can be blinded by it. Divers are advised to go diving in the same place earlier this day so that they are (partly) familiar with the surroundings, both above and below water. Another precaution is to place a light on the spot where after the dive the water has to be left out, or to make sure which permanent burning lights are there that can point the way to the exit. Hazards
Night diving involves a number of additional hazards. It may prevent a diving lamp from falling out. This eliminates the visual vertical , making it difficult to maintain or trim a constant depth. Also, reading the instruments, such as the depth gauge, gauge and any dive computer, makes it difficult. Furthermore, it is possible to lose the rest of the group because the sight without a lamp is severely reduced. In addition, it is difficult for buddies or people on the side or on the ship to find the diver if it does not carry any light.
