The Corps of Royal Engineers or shortly Royal Engineers is one of the British Army Corps. The Royal Engineers provide genists and other technical support to the British Armed Forces. The members themselves are often called sappeurs. The Corps of Royal Engineers is headed by the Chief Royal Engineer.
The Corps of Royal Engineers is divided into several regiments spread across the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Germany. Both the headquarters of the regiments and the Royal School of Military Engineering are located in Chatham (Kent County).
