Simone Bezzini (Colle di Val d'Elsa, November 27, 1969) is an Italian politician, former president of the Province of Siena.
In 1987 he enrolled at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Florence, but stopped studying before the graduation. In 1990 he was elected, at 21, in the town council of the hometown, where he remained until 1999. In 1995 he became secretary of the leftist Democrats of Colle di Val d'Elsa, who led until 2004, when he became provincial councilor , elected on the occasion of the administrative elections of 12 and 13 June. It is still the same year that he was appointed deputy secretary of the Left Democrats during the Third Provincial Congress of the Quercia senese, led by Franco Ceccuzzi.
In September 2006, he was elected secretary of the DS, who led the ferry to the Democratic Party, which he was secretary until December 2008. A candidate for the PD primary for the presidency of the Province of Siena on February 1, 2009 wins the challenge with 65.64 percent of the votes. Backed by a coalition of Italy of the Democrats, Democratic Party, Reformists and the Left, Simone Bezzini was elected, with 57.81 per cent of votes, president of the Province of Siena, during the administrative elections of 6 and 7 June 2009.
