Fear City

Fear City is an American action film from 1984 directed by Abel Ferrara.

The story can be seen as a modern version of Jack the Ripper, in which an ex-boxer, active as bodyguard, seeks the man who kills and mishes prostitutes in a lugubere and bloody way.

The film is characteristic of Ferrara film by its recordings in the New York suburbs and its to the Catholic Church, but is also noticeable Ferrara's first studio movie, and therefore much more adapted to the audience than previously independent hits Driller Killer (1979) and Ms. 45 (1981).
