Hortensia Bussi
Hortensia Bussi Soto de Allende, surname La Tencha, (Valparaiso, July 22, 1914 - Santiago, June 18, 2009) was the wife of Chilean President Salvador Allende.
Bussi studied at the University of Chile, became a teacher's history and geography and was a librarian at the Chilean National Institute of Statistics. Following the coup that took her husband away, Bussi went to Mexico for exile. She campaigned against the regime of Augusto Pinochet. Bussi returned to Chile in 1988.
