Norman Vincent Beyond
Norman Vincent Peale (Bowersville, Ohio), May 31, 1898 - Pawling (New York), December 24, 1993) was an American Protestant minister and author of self-help books. Peale has become famous for his book The Power of Positive Thinking (1952; Dutch Translation: The Power of Positive Thinking, 1953; 39th Edition, 2006), in which he expressed his views on positive thinking.
His credo was: "Stamp your mind that you're a success number."
Peales views are under severe criticism of scientific psychology. The social vision of the social conservative Peale has also been widely criticized. By emphasizing changing people's thinking, the influence of social circumstances on people's social position would be ignored.
