Rianodina

Rianodina

Rianodine is an alkaloid extracted from Ryania speciosa plant, used at first as insecticide.

Rianodine has a high binding affinity with the rianodine receptor, a group of calcium channels found mainly in skeletal muscle and myocardium.

At nanomolar concentrations, rianodine blocks the receptors at the semi-open stage, while at micromolar concentrations it closes them completely. When present in nanomolar concentrations, rianodine allows the release of calcium from the sarcoplasmic reticulum allowing for muscle contraction. Notemodify wikitesto
