Salmanassar IV (... - 773 BC) was king of Assyria from 782 BC until death.
He came to the throne under the name of Šulmanu-ašared IV but is remembered by the name of Salmanassar IV, as this is the one used in the Bible, succeeded to Adad-nirari III (810 BC - 783 BC) and to his death went on Assyrian dancing brother Assur-dan III (772 BC - 755 BC).
