Anthony Francis ("Tony") Fernandes (Kuala Lumpur, April 30, 1964) is a Malaysian entrepreneur and senior officer. He is co-founder of the Tune Group and airline AirAsia. Life and work
Fernandes was born in Kuala Lumpur in 1964. From 1977 to 1983 he studied at Epsom College and in 1987 he graduated from the London School of Economics. He began his career as an accountant at Virgin Atlantic Airways. Subsequently, he was appointed general manager of Warner Music Group Malaysia. From 1992 to 2001 Fernandes worked as vice president of the Warner Music Group. Currently he is the Chairman of the AirAsia Airline. He is also the owner of the Formula 1 team Caterham Racing. In addition, he is also a major shareholder of the London Football Club Queens Park Rangers FC, who has been in the English Football League Championship since the summer of 2015.
He is also active in Formula 1 and established the Caterham F1 Team in 2012.
