Désiré Acket (Antwerp, May 4, 1905 -? 1987) was a Flemish graphic designer, wood engraver and bookbuster designer. Explanation

Acket made name with color chart, ex-libraries, calendar works and book illustrations. He illustrated among others Karel van de Woestijn Romeo, or the lover of love, the Ishmine of Magister Nivardus (Prof. J. van Mierlo) and Guido Gezelles Fourteen. For the Silver WB book from 1950, an engraving was made by a story by Julien Kuypers. Acket provided each of the six chapters of the third edition (1942) of Stijn Streuvels' novel The Disappointment of the Water Angle of Illustrations. Acket exhibited in the Salon 1933 in Ghent with "Vastenavond" (Carnival) and "The Beggar".

Acket was married to the same Flemish artist Nelly Degouy. He was a student of the Royal Academy and the studio of Edward Pellens. He lived in the Verdussenstraat 3 in Antwerp. Museums Literature
