Elpida


Elpida Karayianopoulou (Spercheiada, October 1, 1950) is a Greek singer and songwriter in activity since the seventies.

In 1972 he participated in the Thessaloniki Song Festival (in Greek Φεστιβάλ Τραγουδιού Θεσσαλονίκης) with the song Den ton eida (Δεν τον είδα, "I did not see it") and the same year he recorded his first album , which was presented live by his colleagues Georges Dalaras, Giannis Parios, Tolis Voskopoulos, Giorgos Marinos, Yannis Poulopoulos, Haris Alexiou and Grigoris Bithikotsis. And already in 1973, according to Greek national radio ERT, was the country's most popular singer.

In 1975 she won the Viña del Mar Festival with Love Song.

He represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 1979 with the song Sokratis, ranking eighth.
