Celski, who is from Polish-Philippine origin, became national overall junior champion in 2007 and 2008. In December 2008 he won the silver medal at the national championships for seniors after Apolo Anton Ohno. A month later, he was at the World Cup overall with bronze on stage. He won gold at the 500m in the World Cup in Quebec and with the American relay team. He also sharpened the Junior World Record at 500 and 1000 meters.

In March 2009 Celski became second at the World Championships in Vienna. He won gold on the 3000 meter superfinal and with the redemption. He also obtained bronze at 1000 and 1500 meters.

In September 2009 Celski managed to place himself in the US trials for the Olympic Games. At first he seemed to be unable to get involved because he hit heavily injured during the 500 meters; Celski got a skate in his left leg and needed more than thirty attachments. Much faster than imagined, Celski returned to the ice cream at the end of 2009.

At the 2010 Winter Olympics, he benefited from the fall of two Korean shorttrackers at 1500 meters, thus gaining the bronze medal. With the American relay team, he later won bronze.

At the world championships shorttrack 2014, he matched his best rating from 2009, again became his second in the world.
